About Family Wellness Center
About Us Let us help you on your journey to the healthiest you possible. Our Family Medicine Practice was established in Vancouver in 1995 by Susan Zulke Hughes, MD, who is now retired. Since then, we have grown from one primary care physician to six providers. Family Practice Medicine Family Practice Medicine is often described in medical school as the ability to care for 90% of conditions that come into the clinic. Family Medicine training then encompasses specialties with emphasis on holistic care in an outpatient setting. All of our family medicine physicians have had training in diabetes, coronary artery disease (CAD), orthopedics, and obstetrics/gynecology (OB/GYN); however not all physicians choose to continue work in obstetrics. At the Family Wellness Center (FWC), our four doctors and two nurse practitioners offer primary care for all ages, from newborns through adults. Who Are We? We are an independent, physician-owned group of providers, educated and experienced in the care of patients of all ages, and committed to providing high-quality, cost-effective medical care. The mission of Family Wellness Center is to promote healthy families by uniting time-honored medical care with today’s modern lifestyle. We work as partners with our patients; we listen to them and encourage them to take an active role in their health and wellness. We believe educated patients are better prepared to do this, and our providers and staff are trained to educate our patients so they can make informed choices. We take seriously our role as part of the “extended family” of greater Vancouver. We maintain staff privileges with the local hospitals, work with Clark County agencies and organizations, and support community health initiatives.
