About Fareezah: The Educational Initiative
Fareezah is a welfare organization dedicated to reintegrating out-of-school children into the educational mainstream. It is the brainchild of a group of high-school friends united by their conviction that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. Fareezah is a non-profit, non-governmental educational initiative providing free, quality education to out-of-school and underprivileged children in Kotha Kalan, Rawalpindi, since 2016. Fareezah has expanded to a second campus, Al-Saeed Campus in 2024 in Dhoke Munshi, Gharibabad, to further reduce the number of out-of-school children in the area. Collectively, we are educating around 450 children, primarily from families of migrant domestic workers and daily-wage earners. Our mission is to empower our students with knowledge, empathy, and community service skills, enabling them to become leaders of change in their communities. Fareezah relies on donations from everyday individuals and volunteers who support child education through Zakat, Saqadat and general donations. The core team & advisory board members of Fareezah primarily raise funds through their social circles, and dedicate their time voluntarily, viewing their involvement as a moral and ethical duty.
