About Farm2People
As a grassroots and volunteer-led 501(c)(3) organization, we at Farm2People actively work to repair the broken links in the local food supply chain. Our local farms have a surplus, because of the Covid-19 shutdowns. At the same time, more and more people are hungry. So we are working to support local farms AND get farm-fresh, healthy food to Angelenos urgently experiencing food insecurity!! We repair the broken links in our food supply chain and reconnect the supply with the demand, addressing the urgent issues of food insecurity and food waste. Our platform enables all the steps of the fresh food flow from one end of the supply chain to the other, from picking the donations at the farms to delivering each agency their orders. Founded by a group of food industry professionals who want to bring innovation to our food systems to make them more resilient and sustainable, Farm2People is active in the Los Angeles area. We strongly believe that California, at high risk for a food system crisis but also the largest food producer in the US and the world’s technology leader, is in a position to champion these initiatives.
