About Farmhouse School

Farmhouse School is located on a historic prairie farmstead in Campton Hills, a far western suburb of Chicago, where we grow over 50 crops on 2+ acres using organic practices. Growing and cooking classes take place in the restored 1846 schoolhouse, where a large modern cooking space has been added. We aim to spark a love of "real" food, especially in kids. Hands-on food experiences clear a path to less screen time and processed foods, with more wonder, dirt, sweat, creativity and experimentation. Working with ingredients straight from the garden, and giving students a direct hand in the harvesting and cooking, builds excitement, pride and healthy appetites. Please grab an apron, and join me in this happy, wholesome pursuit.
