About Fashion Foods

Fashion Foods is a category enhancement, research and innovation enterprise founded by Bill and Erica Lynch in the Tasman Region of NZ's South Island. It also manages the I.P, brands, Plant Variety Rights and plant material test plantings. Fashion Foods is primarily dedicated to improved flavours in pipfruit and has bred a range of new varieties over the past 25 years challenged to recapture the strong flavours that have dissipated with modern appearance focussed priorities. Hence Fashion Foods motto is "flavour first" Two of the leading varieties from the breeding current programme - MONDAJU & BERICA - have emerged out of their breeding programmes recapturing bygone strong flavours that have dissipated with the massive global plantings of the Royal Gala apple and its sports. They also have strikingly different attractively visual appeal, are grower friendly and store and ship particularly well. Fashion Foods has successfully completed preliminary trials on it's own orchards in Tasman over the past decade and is now undertaking semi-commercial trials at a number of selected sites around New Zealand. Market demand is exceptionally strong, with a highly sought after taste and appearance rating for Chinese preferences, and right across ASIA . Fashion Foods is exploring a range of license models with a number of interested potential stakeholders.
