About FAST Planning
Fairbanks Area Surface Transportation (FAST) Planning is the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the urbanized areas of the Fairbanks North Star Borough, including the cities of North Pole and Fairbanks. FAST Planning focuses on creating plans for local multi-modal transportation system investments that work for the betterment of the community. This Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is an ongoing cooperative effort guided by priorities set forth by the Technical Committee and Policy Board. Region-wide plans and development patterns help steer short and long-range plans, which aim to safely and efficiently move goods and people, while simultaneously supporting economic progress, environmental protection and an improved quality of life.
