The core is extracted from the outer jacket, leaving the jacket in situ for fibre insertion and connection: ~ Cable cut at two points, typically 100-150m apart. (Accessed from pedestal/chamber and house ingress in the case of the last drop). ~ Injection fitting assemblies attached to both near and far end of the cable. ~ The patented fluid is pumped between core wrapping and outer jacket to lubricate and compress. ~ The hydraulic winch pulls the inner core from the outer jacket, or alternatively, the cable core can be pressed out under the fluid pressure. ~ Mini-ducts and/or fibres are either pulled through during core extraction, or inserted into the empty cable jacket post-extraction.
