About Fatima Bint Mohamed Bin Zayed Initiative
Established in 2010, the Fatima bint Mohamed bin Zayed Initiative (FBMI) is an innovative social enterprise that harnesses the traditional skills of the Afghan people to produce beautiful hand-knotted carpets, embroidered furniture, and local handicraft at fair market wages. FBMI also invests locally in healthcare, education, numerous social and economic reforms, and provides strategic advisory, in a variety of sectors, to international NGOs and governments. To date, FBMI has employed over 4,000 low-income Afghans and advised institutions including WHO, UNICEF, IOM, USAID, The U.A.E., and Afghan governments – amongst many others. Why work at FBMI?
