La Fédération Française de Ski (FFS) est une association Loi 1901 fondée le 15 octobre 1924, basée à Annecy. Les missions de la FFS sont : PROMOUVOIR ET DEVELOPPER la pratique du ski sous toutes ses formes, ORGANISER les compétitions sportives à tous les niveaux, DELIVRER les titres nationaux, régionaux et départementaux, CONTRÔLER la formation des cadres bénévoles qui animent ses 1 000 clubs, SELECTIONNER les représentants français en vue des compétitions ou manifestations internationales, DEFINIR les règles techniques propres au ski et au snowboard dans le respect des règlements internationaux, PARTICIPER à la réalisation des textes instituant les diplômes d’Etat (D.E.) et participer aux jurys d’examen pour la délivrance de ces brevets, PROPOSER à la commission nationale du sport de haut niveau les candidatures des athlètes. La FFS, c'est 900 clubs, 100.000 adhérents et 200 athlètes dans les disciplines olympiques.
