Why feelr? Most languages offer a variety of words to describe how we feel. Yet some of us default to broad terms like "good" or "bad," while others use more precise words like "hopeful" or "frustrated." Research shows that these individual differences—known as emotional granularity or emotion differentiation—are linked to a range of positive mental, behavioural, and social outcomes. A decade ago, one paper described emotional granularity as a simple, easily trainable skill that facilitates psychological and social wellbeing, yet noted that it was "frequently overlooked." We hope feelr can help change that. Though still in its demo phase and requiring patience, feelr is designed to increase awareness of this valuable skill and help nurture its development.
