About Fermata Psychotherapy

We believe that psychological, emotional, and relational challenges are part of what makes us human, not signs that there is something “wrong” with us. We see therapy as a process of expanding awareness and understanding, in order to develop a renewed sense of agency and possibility. We help our clients get to the root of what troubles them, so that change and growth can occur from within. We believe in the importance of a non-judgmental therapeutic relationship as a space where people can feel fully accepted, make sense of their experiences, and find a path to healing and hope. Our work is guided by five core values: Curiosity, Relationships, Diversity, Integrity, and Meaning. We work with people who experience anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, self-doubt and self-esteem issues, shame, loss and grief, or identity issues. We also help individuals who have experienced ongoing complex trauma, or are dealing with work-life balance issues, life transitions, out-of-control sexual behavior, or cultural adjustment. Fermata provides individual therapy, couples counseling, and process groups. We provide services in English, Spanish, Romanian, Italian, French, and Arabic. We are located in downtown Chicago, at the historic Monadnock Building, easily accessible through public transportation, and provide in-person and teletherapy (video) appointments.
