Hlutverk Festi er að stýra fjárfestingum, styðja við verðmætasköpun og skapa ný tækifæri. Festi á og rekur fyrirtæki sem eru leiðandi á hvert á sínum markaði; matvöru-, raftækja-, eldsneytis-, raforkusölu-, lyfsölu og þjónustustöðvamarkaði. Fasteigna- og vöruhúsarekstur og kaup og sala verðbréfa er einnig hluti af starfsemi samstæðunnar. Móðurfélagið Festi á dótturfélögin Krónuna sem rekur samnefndar matvöruverslanir, N1 sem rekur þjónustustöðvar eldsneytis- og rafmagnssölu og ýmsa þjónustu tengda smur- og bifreiðaþjónustu, ELKO sem er stærsta raftækjaverslun landsins, Lyfja sem er ein stærsta keðja apóteka á landinu og rekur 45 staðsetningar um land allt, Yrkir sem á og rekur fasteignir samstæðunnar og Bakkann vöruhótel sem sérhæfir sig í vöruhúsaþjónustu og dreifingu. Festi's mission is to drive investments, support value creation and create new opportunities. Festi owns and operates companies that are leaders in each of their markets; food, electronics, pharmaceuticals, fuel, electricity sales and service stations. Real estate and warehouse operations along with the purchase and sale of securities are also part of the Group's activities. The parent company Festi owns the subsidiaries Krónan which operates supermarkets, N1 which operates fuel and electricity sales service stations and various services related to lubrication and automotive services, ELKO which is the largest electronics store in Iceland, Lyfja which is the largest pharmacy chain in Iceland, Yrkir eignir, which owns and operates the Group's real estate and Bakkann vöruhótel, which specialises in warehouse services and distribution.
