Since 1995, the Festival has presented audiences with French-language films of excellence and originality. The event was founded by Maidy Teitelbaum. It’s among the best Montreal’s rendez-vous of cinephiles to discover feature films selected from over 200 films viewed annually by its team of programmers. CINEMANIA is one of the largest dedicated French-language feature film festivals solely devoted to premieres in North America, Canada, or Quebec. CINEMANIA figure parmi les plus importants festivals de sa catégorie au Canada et fêtera en 2014 ses 20 ans. Depuis 1995, la manifestation programme chaque année en novembre des films en première québécoise, canadienne et nord-américaine. L'événement bénéficie du soutien des cinéastes Cédric Klapisch, Bertrand Tavernier, Radu Mihaileanu, Costa-Gavras, Arnaud Desplechin, Alain Cavalier et a accueilli Anouk Aimée, Isabelle Huppert, Sandrine Bonnaire, Juliette Binoche, Niels Arestrup... CINEMANIA est une belle porte d'entrée pour les premières oeuvres et les films indépendants dont on n'entend presque plus parler en Amérique du Nord. Ses masterclasses, leçons d'acteurs et rétrospectives font le bonheur des cinéphiles.
