FGH was founded in 1921. FGH has since been a central point of contact for grid operators, manufacturers of power generation plants, units, and grid components as well as for plant operators and project planners. Today FGH comprises three corporate entities: FGH e.V., “Forschungsgesellschaft für Elektrische Anlagen und Stromwirtschaft” [Research Association for Electrical Plants and the Electricity Industry] is a registered non-profit association in the hands of 36 member companies from the power industry. FGH GmbH has been spun off from the association for the purpose of contract research and technical consulting. FGH Zertifizierungsgesellschaft mbH is the testing, inspection, and certification body of FGH, offering independent and accredited certification services for power generation plants, units, and grid components. Both companies are 100% subsidiaries of FGH e.V. FGH is a pioneer and implementer of future topics in the field of electrical energy supply. As a pioneer in the grid integration of decentralized generation plants, it contributes to the expansion, further development, and technical integration of renewable energies and plays a key role in the safety and quality of transmission and distribution grids – both nationally and internationally.
