Using a SaaS model, Field Sim is developing online training and digital tools to help companies in the skilled trades get new employees ramped up in days instead of months, using a mix of 4K video and online simulators. Our first product offering is a series of fire alarm training courses offered via our online training platform, FireAlarm.Training (https://firealarm.training). The skilled trades are chronically short-staffed. The biggest problem is that there is very little training available. It takes 2-6 months of on-the-job training (OJT) before a new employee has enough knowledge and experience to add value. New apprentices are often taught by field technicians with an incomplete and flawed understanding, leading to the further spreading of incorrect practices and misunderstandings. Furthermore, technicians’ schedules are highly time sensitive and tend to afford little time for teaching. Most companies just don’t have the time or skill to train new techs. Field Sim is closing the skills gap in the trades with online on-demand training courses targeted at folks out in the field. Our simulator technology can replicate real world electrical values for electrical circuits in normal and fault conditions.
