About Figure Skating in Harlem

Figure Skating in Harlem helps girls transform their lives and grow in confidence, leadership and academic achievement. We are the first organization for girls of color that combines the power of education with access to the artistic discipline of figure skating to build champions in life. Using the artistic discipline of figure skating as a powerful magnet, we provide girls in Upper Manhattan and the Bronx (and now in Detroit), with innovative education and fitness programs that promote academic success, physical health, and emotional well-being. As a result, our students experience physical, emotional, and intellectual growth in a safe and supportive environment. Our hope is to empower every young girl with the skills and foundation to achieve her dreams. She will be a powerful speaker, an effective leader, live a healthy lifestyle, and be a global citizen. We aim to bring the benefits of our model program to even more children by creating extension programs in other under resourced communities.
