About FilmAngels

FilmAngels is the world's first angel investor group dedicated to funding independent film. It connects the most promising movie ventures with the most suitable individual investors, a.k.a. angels. Modeled after leading angel networks, FilmAngels has been discreetly active in Silicon Valley for more than half a decade. Its members have invested in dozens of film productions. This one-of-a-kind investment organization was founded by Wall Street investment banker turned entrepreneur Thomas Trenker as a philanthropic endeavor, and co-founded by venture capitalist Saad Khan of CMEA Capital and formerly Garage Technology Ventures. The founding team also included an influential group of Silicon Valley professionals with backgrounds in early-stage investing, corporate law, real estate, software development and Internet startups. Film entrepreneurs don't pay any fees for pitching directly to investors at the group's invitation-based monthly meetings, nor for the resulting transactions. Only accredited investors with an interest in movies are invited to attend these pitch sessions and participate in the presented investment opportunities.
