Financial straight talk strives to empower. Results show that 65.5% of students given a personal finance survey received failing scores. In 2009, only 13% of all U.S. workers and 20% of current retirees claim to have been “very confident” about having enough money for a secure retirement. The U.S. has a savings rate of 4.8% as of February 2010, compared to China’s rate of over 30%. My passion is to help people, especially women and minorities empower themselves, through their knowledge of finances and investments, so they are adequately prepared for retirement, as well as life’s situations. 30% of U.S. workers age 45 and older are not currently saving for retirement. 32% of retirees return to work due to financial need. Only 25% of the estimated 76 million Baby Boomers think they will have enough to retire. Financial Straight Talk’s goal is to empower people who are not meeting their financial retirement goals.
