About Financial Wellness Services
Wayne Hanson: Certified Instructor and Counselor Following a lengthy career in Human Resources, with experience in all functional areas of Human Resources and a heavy emphasis in employee benefits, it became clear to me that employees often make poor choices relative to their benefit options; especially those benefit options that have significant financial impact, (i.e., flexible spending accounts, 401(k), and DB pension plans). And poor financial choices, whether related to employee benefits or day to day personal finances, can lead to financial stress which, in turn, can lead to disrupted lives and to physical disease. As a result of my Human Resources experience and the current crisis in personal financial management, fueled by the myriad of economic problems we face in the U.S., I now campaign for financial wellness in the workplace; the reduction of financial distress through financial wellness education and counseling. I’m passionate about the subject of financial wellness and I believe that a health wellness program without a financial wellness component only addresses part of the wellness pie. I can bring that critical financial wellness piece that you may be missing in your wellness program, and I created my company for this purpose. By adopting financial wellness education programs, employers can improve the financial wellness of employees; leading to better health, increased productivity, and ultimately increased shareholder value for the employer.
