About Firefighters For Healing
Firefighters for Healing is a non profit foundation founded by firemen who tragically experienced first hand what burn survivors endure. On July 3rd, 2010 Minneapolis firefighter, Jake Laferriere, suffered 3rd and 4th degree burns in a back draft explosion while battling a house fire. It was at the hospital while being treated for his burns that Jake met young children who were undergoing the same painful treatment for their injuries. The event, Jake refers to as "a blessing" changed his life forever. Jake founded Firefighters for Healing with the mission of supporting burn survivors and first responders.
