About Fireflies Forest School - Cambridgeshire

Fireflies Forest school is based at Hinchingbrooke Country Park in Huntingdon. We are a registered Ofsted childcare provider, Accredited by the National Forest School Association as a recognised provider and have been awarded a 5* Food hygiene rating. We feel passionate that children should be immersed in the outdoors and connect with nature as much as possible. We follow the forest school ethos in all of our sessions, making them a child led experience where the children develop their independence, resilience, confidence and self esteem whilst learning to assess and manage risk through risky play. We offer an outdoor space for new parents to come together and chat and support one another. We offer support on how to incorporate the outdoors into your child's learning, share ideas of craft activities to do outdoors with your child, and we support parents who are perhaps a little less comfortable with getting muddy and being out side. Being a new parent is tough! We want to support you to use nature in your child's learning and development, whilst in turn supporting parents mental health and wellbeing. We welcome all children, no matter their needs to all of our sessions, so please do let us know if you would like a chat to ensure we can makesure that our sessions are accesible for your child. We can also offer 1:1 or small group sessions with personalised alternative provision programmes that can be tailored and designed in line with your childs needs or EHCP. We currently are working with some children who struggle to be in school full time and so come to our alternative provision for a nature based intervention which whilst following the interest of the child are also following the recommendations in their EHCP's.
