About First Nations Network
Little Rocket, a 100% First Nations owned and operated creative agency based in Naarm, (Melbourne) has collaborated with established Telecommunications company Unity4 to develop a unique value proposition; the first call centre service provider owned and operated by a First Nations business designed to drive employment and career paths for First Nations Communities. Founders John Burgess (Gurindji) and Mark Vaughn came together to put this joint venture together after a conversation around providing First Nations community flexible, rewarding, work opportunities from where they lived with only access to a phone and an internet connection. The proposition was so impressive not only from an employment perspective but also from a career development standpoint, a sustainability position and a way for organisations to reach social procurement targets within their reconciliation action plan’s or diversity and inclusion frameworks. Unity4 has an impressive record in deploying telecommunication services around the world and more recently have successfully launched a similar model in New Zealand with great success. It has been the Unity4 Executives intent to seek a partner to deliver the same service value in Australia to make an impact in First Nations communities. Little Rocket seeks to assist communities, especially in remote locations where opportunities are so sparse and the difference of a job and flexibility to remain and grow in community is so vital to its sustainability.
