About First People Project
At First People Project, we are passionate about two specific areas: MAKING FILMS There are thousands of stories to be told about the incredible people who have called Australia home for 50,000 years. Stories that all Australians should know. We want to show Australia and the world that Aboriginal and Torres Strait traditional culture is a beautiful and complex weave of art, lore, culture, language, tradition, stories and dance. HELPING YOUNG INDIGENOUS PEOPLE ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS Whether young Indigenous people have gone through an Indigenous scholarship program, or have finished school in their local community, they often need intensive help to achieve their goals. Many want to be back home in their communities to re-connect, but then find it hard to make the move to the next step. They have the idea in their heads, but often don’t have the connections, life-experience or role models to make it happen.
