About First Rate Marine
First Rate Marine is an online resource providing quality consulting and installation solutions for the boating industry. We have over fourteen years of combined technical boating knowledge in mechanical, electrical, fiberglass repair, canvas work, finishes, rigging (standing and running), network systems, NMEA, CAD design, and more. We offer our services for cruisers whose goal is to travel long-term and remain off-grid for extended periods of time. We have spent countless hours researching and implementing systems that utilize conventional and new methods to make small space living as efficient as possible. We are determined to continue learning, practicing, and applying the latest material and equipment technologies, in conjunction with the time-tested principles of boating construction and good seamanship. These principles, materials, methods, and designs are applicable for not only boating life, but for RV and tiny home, and off grid living. Our goal is to pass this information onto other cruisers to help them get out there and enjoy expansive, endless travel.
