About First Step Nutrition
Jennifer's mission is to help make feeding families easier. Jennifer is a Registered Dietitian, mom of three and owner of First Step Nutrition in Calgary, Alberta. She has a BSc in Nutrition & Food Sciences from the University of Alberta and an MSc in Human Nutrition from the University of British Columbia. Whether dealing with picky eaters or starting solids, Jen helps her clients (from early childhood educators to parents and fellow RDs) decrease food overwhelm through online training & programs. She is the author of "The Parents' Guide to Babyled Weaning" and "Babyfood in an Instant Pot" and blogs over at www.firststepnutrition.com Jennifer's professional speaking experience includes a "Can Dietitians Help Parents Practice Baby-led Weaning Safely" session at the 2018 Dietitians of Canada conference. She has also delivered online trainings for both the public and healthcare professionals through Nutrition Masterclass, Spark Nutrition, The Consulting Dietitians Network at Dietitians of Canada & the International Picky Eating Network for Healthcare Professionals. Jennifer is a member of the College of Alberta of Dietitians and chair of the Consulting Dietitians Network at the Dietitians of Canada. Jen been a Dietitians of Canada member blogger and regional media rep since 2012. An active media contributor, she has appeared on CBC radio, Global National News, The Rutherford Show, the Global Calgary morning show, Global Edmonton Family Matters, CTV Calgary Morning & Noon Shows, Breakfast Television Calgary, Canadian Parent magazine, Canadian Living, Canadian Family magazine, Calgary’s Child magazine, Birthing magazine, Today’s Parent magazine, Today’s Kids in Motion magazine, the Calgary Herald, national Canadian papers through Global Media and AM 770 radio.
