About First Tee Greater San Antonio
First Tee - Greater San Antonio is an international youth development organization introducing the game of golf and its inherent values to young children and teens. Through after-school and in-school programs, we help shape the lives of youth from all walks of life by reinforcing values like integrity, respect, and perseverance. We have provided life skills certification training and golf instruction to San Antonio and Bexar County for over 20 years. Since our inception, we have impacted over 50,000 kids a year through our dedicated programs. Our mission is to empower children to develop enduring character traits that equip them to confront and conquer life's continuous challenges. By seamlessly blending the sport of golf with life skills education, we forge educational opportunities that foster inner resilience, self-assurance, and unwavering confidence - qualities children carry into every facet of their lives. Across our diverse programs, we have cultivated fundamental interpersonal, self-management, and goal-setting abilities crucial for achieving excellence on the golf course, academically, and at home. We offer programs starting as early as age 5 to 14. In each age group, participants actively embrace our 5 Core Commitments: Chasing Goals, Thriving in the Face of Challenges, Team Collaboration, Cultivating a Positive Self-Identity, and Exercising Sound Judgment. Simultaneously, they concentrate on honing their golf fundamentals and progressively enhancing their golf skill base as they progress through the program. First Tee's programs expand to physical education classes and in the community like the YMCA. First Tee recognizes that experiences serve as our greatest lessons. We are dedicated to crafting experiences that are not only enjoyable but also profoundly significant, fostering an environment where children are enthusiastic about personal growth, unafraid of setbacks, and better prepared for their future endeavors.
