About us The mission of The First Tee is to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf. The First Tee provides educational programs and junior golf lessons that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game. It is supported by golf's major organizations including the LPGA, Masters Tournament, PGA of America, PGA TOUR and United States Golf Association. Since its inception in 1997, The First Tee has introduced golf and its inherent values to millions of kid golfers through after-school golf programs on the course, in elementary schools and at youth-serving organizations. The First Tee is an initiative of the World Golf Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in St. Augustine, Fla. at World Golf Village, home of the World Golf Hall of Fame. The First Tee is NOT a junior golf organization - what we ARE is a youth development organization. Each one of our lessons revolves around The First Tee Nine Core Values - respect, honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, judgment, perseverance, courtesy, confidence and responsibility. Participants in The First Tee programs are more equipped for success in high school, college and life.
