About First Things First

First Things First (FTF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing research-based resources to equip individuals with healthy relationship skills to live better lives. Through face-to-face programming, one-on-one coaching sessions, and digital resources, FTF assists individuals, couples, and parents to identify obstacles that keep them from creating deep connections and provide a plan to build stronger relationships. Our long-term vision is that those skills will be passed down from generation to generation, breaking cycles of relationship dysfunction and creating positive change. In order to most effectively help individuals and families move from surviving to thriving, we implement a holistic approach based on the Domains of Family Practice Model. By partnering with other local non-profits, we combine family case management, family life education, and family therapy, as well as coaching and advocacy, in order to best ensure lasting change. While our digital resources reach all over the world, the heart of First Things First remains firmly planted in the community of our hometown -- Chattanooga, TN. We are focusing on providing relationship services to those who need it most and cannot afford it. Generous donors, foundations and corporate sponsors contribute to covering the cost of the majority of our resources. This allows us to provide many free or affordable local relationship resources and programs.
