About First United Methodist Church of Bloomington, Indiana

Located in beautiful downtown Bloomington, First United Methodist Church is a historic church and a vital part of this community. We are a diverse group, and our four worship services on Sunday mornings are reflective of that diversity. The 10:00 a.m. sanctuary service is a classical worship experiences with a beautiful pipe organ, a full chancel choir, and the liturgical setting familiar to many who have grown up in the mainline tradition of Christian worship. Also at 11:15 a.m. we have The Open Door service, which is more contemporary in worship style and is held at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater on Kirkwood Avenue just a block or so from our church building. Along with our Sunday worship experiences, First United Methodist has a full menu of weekly and seasonal activities that include groups of all ages in our church and our community. Attention Students!! Jubilee is an authentic and inclusive Christ-centered student community in the United Methodist tradition for the IU, Bloomington area. We try to live daily as the hands and feet of Christ while loving God, each other, and ourselves. ***Returning August 27th***Wednesday Gatherings: Wednesday 7:30pm at the Bloomington Sandwich Co.
