Originating as an upmarket delicatessen in Dunkeld, specialising in fish and seafood products, Fisherman’s Deli became the first company in Johannesburg to supply freshly caught fish inland. The privately owned company was established in 1981 and expanded over the years to include a wholesale warehouse and factory shop in Northriding, Johannesburg. Fisherman’s Deli has a staff complement of plus minus 280 people and boasts fantastic growth, mainly due to our exceptional service and extensive and ever-increasing product range. The supply of fish (fresh and frozen) to the catering and retail industry vastly increased over the years and in time we expanded our product range due to popular demand from our clients. Fisherman’s Deli has since become a leading food service distributor to clients in many industries, and the preferred supplier to various retail chain store groups. Our multi-temperature refrigerated container delivery fleet is key to ensuring delivery of fresh and quality frozen and chilled produce, as well as grocery products. Our attention to food safety standards and practices protect and enhance the reputation of our company as well as our clients. We have a fully HACCP compliant facility. HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) is the internationally recognised structured operating method that assists businesses operating in the food and beverage industry to identify their food safety risks, to prevent food safety hazards and to address legal compliance.
