About FISPMED
FISPMED is an International Federation for sustainable development and fight against poverty in the Mediterranean and Black Sea. Now FISPMED is composed by 227 members/ partners, belonging to 39 different Mediterranean and Black Sea countries, by representing more than 1,8 million citizens. Our Mission is to preserve the landscape and promote a sustainable development in the Mediterranean and Black Sea area. Currently this area is crossed by several political, economic, social and cultural problems. This situation has accelerated its environmental damage. That is why FISPMED priorities are related to environmental problems and to the sustainable development issues: · better management of water and of its demand; · an increased rational use of energy, of renewable energetic sources by also limiting climate changes and starting an adaptation process; · supporting sustainable mobility through an appropriate transport management; · assuring sustainable tourism that may also become a leading economic sector; · guaranteeing sustainable agricultural and rural development; · furnishing incentives for sustainable urban development; · favouring sustainable development of sea, coastal zones and marine sources related activities.
