I created the Fitkidz Program in March 2019 while working at Glenview Leisure Club and have been running the popular ‘Fitkidz Fitness Program’ in which I teach 4-12yrs fitness with a creative twist. My classes are super charged and full of energy using music synced motivation to keep children engaged and moving. The Fitkidz Program includes Yoga, Box-Fit, Kids Circuit Training, Kick-boxing, Self-Defence and Dance-fit. Classes are tailored between 2 different groups: 4-7years (non-structured free play) and 8-12 years (structured play). I am an ITEC Qualified Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer, with special emphasis on Children and Fitness. Fully Garda vetted, I have Certificates in ‘Movement Therapy’ (Sesame Institute London), a Degree in ‘Drama and Theatre Studies’ (UCC) and Masters in Fine Art (Psychophysical Training), University of Exeter under renowned ‘Theatre Director’ and Master Phillip Zarrilli. I am a fully Qualified and Licensed Hatha Yoga, Indian Martial Art Kalarippayattu and T’ai Chi Ch’uan Instructor. I also studied ‘Performing Arts’ and attended The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London. I am a teacher of ‘Drama’ and ‘Theatre’ and use many aspects of my skills while encouraging ‘confidence’ and ‘resilience’. During Covid 19 I have been been offering parents my resources and support in children’s mental health and psycho-social wellbeing through interactive ‘Zoom’ activities. As the pandemic has caused much insecurity and ‘self-doubt’ in many children’s lives my primary focus is on: Physical Activity - Motor Skills, Agility and Co-Ordination Well-being (social skills) - Confidence and Mind-set Training.
