Founded in 1984 Fitts & Goodwin, Inc. is a second generation Columbia, South Carolina based general contractor and construction firm. For more than thirty years, we have provided construction services to industrial, commercial, and institutional clients throughout the Southeast. Fitts & Goodwin is licensed in North and South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Virginia, West Virginia, Florida, and Maryland, offering construction services to industrial, commercial, and institutional clients throughout the Southeast. Normally self-performing the architectural and structural portion of the project, Fitts & Goodwin is backed by a strong following of specialty subcontractors whose expertise is drawn on to complete the construction team. Fitts & Goodwin is experienced in the Design/Build method of project delivery in addition to the more traditional Plan/Spec approach. When working on a Design/Build, third party design services are used to complete the Owner-Architect-Contractor team. This use of independent design professionals maintains the system of checks and balances required to ensure a successful project. It is the philosophy of our firm that a successful construction project results from a team effort of all parties involved: owner, architect, general contractor and subcontractors. These members produce a construction product meeting the owner’s requirements for quality and schedule and at the same time, providing the construction team with a reasonable profit and opportunity for repeat business.
