About FJD Consulting
FJD Consulting is an engineering design consultancy operating in the rail & transportation sectors. We provide rail related engineering design expertise, delivering the expertise and quality of service clients expect from major consultancies whilst remaining responsive, innovative and cost effective. In 2018 we won the 'Trending 20' award for being the best SME in the UK civil engineering sector. In 2022, we were named the 'SME of the Year' at the Engineering Talent Awards. We have specialist teams of expert engineers and technicians in a number of disciplines including Bridges/Structures, Civils, Geotechnics and M&E able to offer both permanent and temporary works design solutions. We also work closely with a number of other UK SMEs to provide a full multidisciplinary design services including permanent way, telecoms, signalling, and OLE. We can also offer full design/project management and CEM services. We pride ourselves on working closely with construction organisations, eliminating and reducing engineering risks during the design process and providing our clients with buildable civil engineering solutions. We utilise the latest Bentley building information modelling and collaboration software - Bentley OpenBuilding Designer and ProjectWise to meet the requirements of BIM level 2. This can be supplemented with photogrammetry, virtual and augmented reality offerings. We offer engineering design/innovation services to develop new and innovative products for the rail sector that can reduce time, cost, programme and site risks. We can provide low carbon engineering design solutions, having developed our own carbon assessment tool that compliments the RSSB Carbon Tool and meets the requirements of NR/L2/ENV/015. This enables us to determine the lowest carbon solutions early in the design phase and to assess potential new products or construction methodologies.
