About Flames of Giving

Flames of Giving is a not for profit 501(c)(3) that has for 30 years been providing gifts of hope and happiness for life’s special moments for people in need. We have given over 38,000 gifts to the needy over the past 30 years through the kindness and compassion of our generous community. Our flagship program grants holiday wishes to those in struggling whether holocaust survivors; people with disabilities; the homeless and destitute; foster children; teens and adults dealing with mental illness and addiction; the elderly who are frail and alone; families struggling with hunger, domestic violence and financial challenges; under served young adults dealing with many of life challenges and people with special needs. We anonymously match less fortunate individuals with generous donors to ensure everyone gets a gift and is remembered at the holidays. After 24 years, in November 2018, we became a 501(c)(3) which has provided us with the opportunity to sustain and grow in helping our neighbors in need celebrate all life's special moments. Besides our flagship Holiday program we have the following wonderful year long initiatives: Handmade Giving where people create with their own hands gifts from the heart. Caring For the Caregiver where we honor the wonderful work of those who care for the sick & elderly. Socks of Love/Hats of Hope to ease the daily struggles of the homeless. Centerpieces For A Cause where we create decorations for parties for foster children and the wonderful families who step in to love and raise them in times of crisis and challenge. The Busy Bag Project where bags full of small games, books and art supplies are created for foster children. COVID Programs in support of our partner agencies. The Birthday Present Project where birthday gifts are provided to those without families to celebrate their special day. Salvaged Treasures where discarded jewelry is refurbished and giving to people in celebration of special occasions.
