Dr. Dennis Flanagan is a highly respected dentist who practices full-time at Flanagan Dental in Mystic, Connecticut. With over 30 years of experience, he previously managed a two-location dental group serving more than 15,000 patients with 37 staff members. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of General Dentistry, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry. He has been honored as a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, a Diplomate/Fellow of the Academy of Osseointegration, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Dentistry. A prolific author and researcher, Dr. Flanagan has published more than 140 articles and holds eight U.S. patents for medical and dental devices. He has lectured extensively at national and international conferences, contributing significantly to the advancement of implant dentistry. His service includes roles as Attending Dentist for the U.S. Olympic Committee and as Chief of Dentistry at Windham Community Memorial Hospital for more than eight years. He has also served as Senior Associate Editor of the Journal of Oral Implantology and as Editor of the AAID News, helping shape scholarly dialogue in the profession. Academically, Dr. Flanagan is a tenured Associate Professor of Dental Medicine at Lugano University in Switzerland and Malta and an Adjunct Professor and Clinical Site Director in Oral Implantology at Jacksonville University. A graduate of Georgetown University School of Dentistry, he furthered his training with an Oral Implantology certificate from Harvard and a Master’s in Oral Implantology from Goethe Medical University in Frankfurt, Germany. Over his career, Dr. Flanagan has placed and restored more than 15,000 dental implants, combining surgical expertise with a deep commitment to patient care. His clinical achievements, academic work, and innovations have left a lasting impact on the field of dentistry.
