About Flare Street

We’re all about spreading the flare-love! Put on a pair of our flares and let your spirit groove in bright, bold, iridescent colour. Flare Street began when designer, Nik Shimmin, started her search for the perfect pair of flares in 2013. When she realised they didn’t exist, the next step was to make her own. She drew inspiration from her favourite era - the 1960's and 70’s - the most magical and adventurous era that explored self-expression through fashion, art and music. She then combined this passion with quality and ethically sourced fabrics and launched Flare Street as an online store in July 2013. Now she works from a sunlit studio in the heart of Brunswick, Melbourne. All the flares are handmade in Melbourne, making each pair exquisitely unique – with most fabrics only used to create a limited number of flares you’ll want to rock for years to come. Best worn while spinning your favourite records on a Sunday morning, lazing about on a sunny afternoon or dancing away on a Saturday night.
