Fleece & Thank You, a Michigan-based non-profit organization, is dedicated to providing connection, comfort, and hope programs, services and materials to children facing illness and their families supporting them. Our signature program is our blanket-making event. We host over 400 blanket-making events every year to help us achieve our goal of making 30,000 fleece blankets, one blanket for every child in MI that goes into the hospital for inpatient treatments. Fleece & Thank You was inspired by our friend Sophie, 4 years old and battling neuroblastoma. Sophie essentially has cancer up and down her entire spinal column. At a time in her life when she should be playing with dolls and meeting new friends, Sophie is taking trips to the hospital to battle one of the toughest forms of childhood cancer. Get a group together to do a blanket-making event! Every $28 donated pays forward a comforting experience for a warrior in the hospital by buying your group fleece to make a 2-yard blanket and make a video message. Our goal is a simple one: we work to have every child in every hospital bed receiving much-needed hope in the form of a colorful, fleece blanket at the start of treatment.
