About Florida Keys Wild Bird Rehabilitation Center

The Florida Keys Wild Bird Rehabilitation Center, Inc. is a not for profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of native and migratory wild birds that have been harmed or displaced; providing or locating a humane shelter for those birds that cannot be released; and educating the public towards the importance of coexistence with all wild bird species. We are located in Tavernier, Florida in the Upper Florida Keys. Our range of coverage reaches down to Mile Marker 70 and up into the Homestead/Florida City area. Our two separate facilities, the Laura Quinn Wild Bird Sanctuary and the Mission Wild Bird Hospital, represent two branches of our mission statement: The Laura Quinn Wild Bird Sanctuary (93600 Overseas Highway) offers a humane shelter to native wild bird species that, due to physical or behavioral injury, cannot be released back into the wild. Guests are welcome to come view and learn about these species every day of the year from sunrise to sunset. (Note: this is not the location to bring injured wild birds to). The Mission Wild Bird Hospital and Visitor Education Center building houses our gift shop, an indoor education center for the public, and our wildlife rehabilitation hospital. Individuals can bring injured wild birds to the 'Birdgency' side hospital entrance (different from the front entrance) from 9am - 4:30pm every day, or call our 24/7 emergency hotline for after-hours care or to dispatch someone out to assist you with a wild bird in need: 305-852-4486 xt.1. As a nonprofit organization, we rely on the generosity and volunteerism of our community. Thank you for helping us Keep Them Flying!
