About Florida Panhandle Section ITE (FPSITE)
The Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) is an international professional society of transportation engineers, planners and other professionals who work to improve mobility and safety for all transportation system users and help build smart and livable communities. Through its products and services, ITE promotes professional development and career advancement for its members, supports and encourages education, identifies necessary research, develops technical resources including standards and recommended practices, develops public awareness programs, and serves as a conduit for the exchange of professional information. The Florida Panhandle Section ITE (known as FPSITE) is a subdivision of the national Institute of Transportation Engineers within the Florida Puerto Rico District. The Florida Panhandle Section was born from the expansion of the Big Bend Florida ITE Chapter (BBFCITE) in 2021. The BBFCITE Chapter was granted its original Charter by the Florida Section of the ITE Executive Board on November 2, 1994. The Charter became effective on January 1, 1995. The ITE Panhandle Section provides members and transportation professionals within Florida’s Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, Holmes, Washington, Bay, Jackson, Calhoun, Gulf, Gadsden, Liberty, Franklin, Leon, Wakulla, Jefferson, Madison, Taylor counties with local networking and acts as a gateway to knowledge and advancement in transportation through meetings, seminars and lunch and learns.
