OVERVIEW FWDA members are highly qualified chief executives of Florida’s local workforce development boards who collectively represent over 350 years of leadership experience in workforce development. Our members are responsible to ensure the successful delivery of quality workforce services in their local communities. FWDA members perpetuate a strong and unwavering commitment to fiscal integrity and high levels of performance through innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. FWDA KEY INITIATIVES EDUCATION Workforce Professional Development Summit The Summit is the premier workforce development conference hosted by the FWDA to specifically meet the training needs of frontline staff of the workforce system. The only conference of its kind that brings together workforce system staff and partners from every corner of the state to network, share best practices, and stay abreast of the latest trends and innovations in workforce development. ADVOCACY Advocacy is essential in representing our members' voices on legislative and regulatory issues that impact their work and governance. The FWDA Legislative Committee and lobbyist actively engage with state and federal policymakers and regulatory bodies to promote favorable policies. COLLABORATION FWDA members recognize the unique needs represented in our local communities. We believe a collaborative approach guarantees statewide success. Regular communication among our local leadership teams and work groups is paramount to our success. Core work groups include Chief Operating Officers (COO) Group, Financial Officers Group (FOG), Workforce Information Technology Group (WITG), and our Communications Consortium.
