About Flyaway Indoor Skydiving and Bodyflight Center
Flyaway Indoor Skydiving and Bodyflight Center will be the next great leap for the sport of bodyflight. This facility will be replacing the current Flyaway Indoor Skydiving in Pigeon Forge,TN with a purpose-built 50,000+ sqft facility centered around pro-flyers and enthusiasts. Flyaway was one of the first tunnels opened to the public in 1982 and is the longest-running wind tunnel operation in the world. Flyaway CEO, Cameron McMahan, is a 2nd generation tunnel instructor and lifelong flyer. His partner, Ray Kubiak, is a bodyflight visionary and instructor with 25+ years in the sport; both are Flyaway alumni who eventually transitioned to modern wind tunnels and have spent many years working together as trainers, managers, competitors, judges, and true lovers of the sport. McMahan and Kubiak believe that the current industry has done a great job of creating flyers and sharing bodyflight with the world, however proflyers and enthusiast members of the sport are outgrowing the current infrastructure. “We are honored to be able to take this hallowed brand and incredible location to the next level with our revolutionary facility design and operating strategies,” McMahan stated. The new facility in Pigeon Forge, TN will break ground in late 2023 and will offer exciting new features such as two separate wind tunnels – one 14’ tunnel for first-time flyers as well as a semi-private 17’ tunnel specifically designed for proflyers. The new location will also offer multiple team rooms and a 3,000 sqft gym and recovery center that all aim to take the sport to higher levels. Flyaway will serve as a full-service Indoor Skydiving center and boasts other highlights such as: a restaurant, bar, proflyer gear store, robust membership program, and the first official bodyflight training and knowledge center of its’ kind – making this location a great option for both competitions and events.
