About FOKUS- Forum for Women and Development

FOKUS - Forum for Women and Development Issues - works to strengthen women's rights and opportunities through program work in seven countries in Africa and Latin America, as well as through political advocacy work in Norway and internationally. FOKUS is an umbrella organization with 48 member organizations in Norway and is the only Norwegian organization that works exclusively with women's rights and gender equality internationally. The umbrella organization was founded in 1995 and functions as a competence and resource centre. Through advocacy and international development cooperation, FOKUS works to strengthen international commitments and efforts for women's human rights and participation in society. FOKUS has a board and a secretariat in Norway, a country office in Colombia and programs run by partners in Colombia, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Kenya, Tanzania, South Sudan and Uganda.
