About Following Francis

Following Francis is a non-religious, all volunteer, service organization that offers free programs and activities and looks for new, spontaneous, and effective ways to solve our nation’s problem of poverty and marginalization. Our goal is to end marginalization of all kinds, including, but not limited to, that associated with hunger and poverty. Our mission is remove obstacles to happiness so that those we serve, especially children, experience joy and respect. We envision a world in which service to others, treating them with love, respect, and compassion helps end hunger, poverty, marginalization, and loneliness. We are inspired by the values of Francis of Assisi and his ideal of universal brotherhood. Francis lived a life of love, service, respect, and compassion, and honored the worth of every individual. Our programs are focused in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and Myrtles Beach, SC. The programs are unique to the location and the needs of the community. Following Francis is also working with partner organizations to assemble and ship supplies to Ukraine and Poland needed for refugee relief.
