About Fondation Cégep John Abbott College Foundation

Established in 1999, the John Abbott College Foundation was created to support the College’s mission to provide an excellent education for its students within a stimulating learning environment that will enhance their development and potential for success in society. The Foundation is responsible for all fundraising programs/activities that support the funding of: - Scholarships - Bursaries - Financial Assistance - Access to technology - The construction and renovation of facilities - Longer-term endowment funds Supporting Our Students Our student population is diverse, ranging from the ages of 16 to 65 and coming from various socio-economic backgrounds and cultural backgrounds. Despite the many scholarships and bursaries available to John Abbott College students through our Financial Aid Services, for varied reasons many students struggle to cope with the cost of educational and basic expenses, including tuition, books, food, transportation, rent and heating. The Student Assistance Fund comes into play to cover these costs for students who do not have the means - ensuring that every student has the opportunity to complete their studies, regardless of their financial situation. Supporting Our Facilities and Technology Although over a century old, John Abbott College’s distinctive buildings have been very well maintained. Over the years the College has committed to renovations and additions to accommodate the student body, including the addition of the Anne-Marie Edward Science and Technology Facility and renovation of the College’s library. Providing access to industry-grade equipment and technology and state-of-the-art learning facilities, enables our students to reach their highest potential. Supporting Our Future The JAC Foundation also goes after and manages longer-term endowment funds. The investment income derived from endowed funds ensures the College’s future ability to provide John Abbott students with every opportunity to succeed.
