About Food Finders
Food Finders is a non-profit food rescue organization serving Los Angeles, Orange County, San Bernardino and Riverside counties. We rescue good, wholesome perishable and non-perishable food, personal hygiene items, household items and pet food. Donors include LA produce market, grocery stores, restaurants, hospitals, hotels, schools, farmers markets, catering companies, manufacturers and distributors. Food is then delivered directly to one of our 330 partner agencies. Agencies include missions, food pantries, churches, senior centers, sober livings, and shelters. Food Finders has various programs that include our Food 4 Kids Program that provides 380 weekly bags of food to 15 Long Beach schools on Fridays. Our College Pantry start up provides the initial donation to open the pantry and we provide or can purchase additional food throughout the school year. We also strengthen the communities we serve by supporting events such as senior breakfasts, book fairs, back to school events and holiday distributions with food. Lastly our Food Bank Think Tanks provides our partner agencies with workshops, legislation updates, technology resources and social service and nutrition education resources. Our mission is to eliminate hunger and food waste while improving nutrition in the food-insecure communities we serve. In 28 years, we've rescued over 134 million pounds of food, that is enough food for nearly 111 million meals or enough food to feed the state of CA more than 2.8 times!
