About Food For The Poor-Canada

Food For The Poor Canada provides basic aid and sustainable development to communities in the Caribbean and Latin America. We empower communities through five areas of programming: food, housing, education, health and livelihood. Using a unique and powerful combination of basic aid and sustainable development, we respond to urgent needs while building community and social infrastructure. Our goal is to create prosperous communities where children and their families have what they need to flourish. Your donation goes further and has a significant impact: We keep our overhead costs low so that we can impact more lives with the donations we receive. We work effectively and efficiently: we do this by working with Canadian partners to source donated goods in kind that are desperately needed in the countries we serve, and by leveraging the infrastructure and programming of our affiliated organizations on the ground who have been working there for over 35 years. Our community-led approach is important to us. We ask communities to tell us what their needs are before we mobilize to help. Food For The Poor-Canada works with a strong network of partners. We work with government ministries and charitable partners, as well as churches and community leaders to distribute aid where it is needed the most, serving the poorest of the poor, and to strengthen infrastructure in high-needs communities. As a part of the Food For The Poor family of charities, an interdenominational Christian organization, Food For The Poor-Canada provides aid and sustainable development to communities in the Caribbean and Latin America. We benefit from economies of scale and over 42 years of experience working on the ground in the Caribbean and Latin America. Our collaborative approach ensures donations reach those who need it the most, quickly and efficiently.
