About Food4Kids Ontario
Food4Kids provides a healthy supply of food for children aged 4 to 14 years sustaining weekends with limited or no access to food. Food packages are assembled by volunteers and delivered to schools each Friday morning. At the school, the food package is tucked into the child's backpack, allowing access to healthy food each weekend. Each food package contains a healthy supply of foods such as apples, oranges, grapes, healthy stews or soups and whole grains. Foods are provided on their nutritional value, children need to grow and thrive. Food4Kids works with individuals, groups and businesses to raise funds to sustain costs of facilitating the program. Programs offered in Halton, Hamilton, Mississauga, Muskoka, Niagara and Toronto. More than 4,100 children are provided with healthy food each weekend.
