About Foodbank Queensland
At Foodbank, we believe everyone should have access to food. There are Australians going without every day and we are working hard to change that. Foodbank in Queensland provides food and groceries to more than 350 front line Community Partners and 430 School Breakfast Programs each year to make sure no Queenslander experiences hunger. Foodbank Queensland doesn’t just give people food, we give them dignity and respect by providing a basic human right. But we can’t do it without you. Foodbank Queensland was founded by Clem Jones AO, Ian Brusasco AO AM and David Muir AM in 1995, with the vision of a Queensland without hunger. Today, we are the state’s largest and most trusted hunger relief charity. Foodbank Queensland provides over 10,000 meals every hour of operation. This food supports more than 135,000 Queenslanders and provide breakfast to 52,000 school-aged children in need each week, but sadly, demand still outweighs supply. Foodbank operations address 8 UN Sustainability Goals, diverting large volumes of food from landfill, saving water and harmful gas emissions.
