About Foodprint

Foodprint is the app that connects eateries with surplus food to users who purchase discounted meals. Designed with conscious consumers in mind, the app is an opportunity to add sustainability to their diet. Foodprint’s users explore new eateries and purchase discounted meals - keeping good food out of landfills. New Zealand cafes, restaurants and supermarkets produce 50,000 tonnes of food waste annually. Over 60% of this waste is preventable as the food is still fit for human consumption and Foodprint aims to reduce this waste. By using Foodprint eateries are able to sell surplus food, reduce food waste, retain food value and make the most of this unique marketing opportunity. Together, the Foodprint community rescues food, saves money and helps the environment. Foodprint is currently participating in the Creative HQ Climate Response Accelerator. Foodprint is a proud recipient of Auckland Council's Waste Minimisation and Innovation Funding, 2020. In 2020, Foodprint participated in Sprout Accelerator.
